This month, we caught up with Christine Golz, Firm Administrator at?Weltman Bernfield LLC, to find out what’s going on in the accounting?world.
IBISWorld:?What challenge(s) do you and your company or department face right now?
Christine Golz: Marketing of our firm for some of the specialty services we offer.
IW:?How does/might IBISWorld help you overcome this challenge?
CG:?We have always used IBISWorld in our valuation work. It give us the industry information that we need to do comparatives. We are starting to use it to find our target audience that we are going to market to.
IW:?What do you foresee happening in your industry within the next year?
CG:?With the retiring number of Baby Boomers, the merger and acquisition of small to medium firms is going to start to dwindle, thus sending businesses and individuals up to the “big” firms or down to the cookie-cutter tax offices that only service in the tax area. Our plan is to maintain our standards in order to retain our clients take on all those needing a qualified and affordable home.
IW:?Tell us something interesting about yourself (hobbies, experiences, travel, etc.)
CG: Between my awards and the magnitude of hours I put into the firm, most do not realize that I have a passion for art. In fact, there is a 2’x3’ painting in my office that I had done. I also tend to be the firm cheerleader. I love to tell others (especially employee candidates) about our incredible culture and group we have at the firm. I also?as try to keep everyone IN the firm going during stressful times. I usually present a motivation class at the beginning of each year for them and try to post and send out positive messages all year.
